What is political theology?
We the people of faith, in order to form a more perfect union ...
do not have to tolerate the hate-driven actions of our federal government. We have First Amendments rights that protect us in speaking out against unjust laws and policies. We are even protected in speaking in the public square about our faith. We the people of faith must speak out when our government marginalizes people.
People often feel like they can’t make a difference. But remember, Jesus, the 12 disciples, and women and men alike, changed the world. Take heart and do something for justice. You will help someone, you will send a strong message that you’re not having injustice. You will feel better because you are contributing to a more just society, and your spiritual life will deepen. Let’s work for justice together.

Confusion exists about how charities can be active in politics. Marcia Ledford helps congregations understand what charities and individuals can do in legally in exercising their constitutional rights. The aim of political theology is not to establish a supreme religion. Its aim is to participate as one of hopefully many different voices of faith who work for a more just society.
