The only way to Easter is to “go to the cross.” We cannot have the resurrection without the death of Jesus. That means experiencing his pain and passion in our reflections, prayers, and meditation on Good Friday. As Jesus sat at the feet of the disciples, taking the role of servant-master to wash their feet like a slave, we now sit at the feet of Christ on the cross. We know the women were at the cross, risking crucifixion for themselves. They walked the Way of Sorrows, the Via Dolorosa, right along with Jesus.
Join me in praying the stations of the cross, prepared by Karina Tabone, through her ministry, Illustrated Prayer. The link is here, and you can read about and pray at the stations as they are depicted by the great artists and paintings of our Christian tradition.
I bid you blessings on your journey with Jesus to the cross and his tomb.+
